For this child I prayed........ and the Lord hath given me that which I asked of him.

Happy Birthday to 2 Special Ladies in my Life.......

Mom and Macey have the same B'day. I had always wanted a small dog so my mom got Macey for my 17th b'day and she was born on the same day as mom. How cool is that! She has been such a blessing to me and having her got me through some really rough and lonely times when my parents weren't around. I saw mom today to wish her a happy day and give her a gift before running off to the dentist. He felt sorry for me and didn't want me to be numb for my banquet so we rescheduled my appointment. He is very considerate and I really like him.

I came home to a clean, fed, eager to play baby. WOW! She was crying this morning when I had to leave her. :( It made me sad to have to go. Tonight she was so excited and I can't blame her b/c I was glad to be home myself. I go this week for a meeting with MTSU for Grad school. It looks like I'll be changing from TN Tech. They cancelled some classes I need and it looks like weekends will work better anyway.

My little Raegan is a climber. It used to make me nervous when she was just trying to walk but now she is doing really well. She does especially well if she can walk short distances and has something in sight that she knows she can reach and hold on to . I've been told that once they master one task look out b/c they find something new to scare you with. Ever since I can remember, she has crawled onto things like boxes and tubs but they were no more than a few inches high. This girl is not afraid of heights! She climbs on the fireplace all the time and even tries to get on the coffee table.

On a final note, my friend Amy's sister-in-law was supposed to have her triplets by c-section tonight. They found a tumor/cyst by ultrasound recently on the kidneyof Baby C - a boy and now one on Baby A-a girl. They are said to be around 5 1/2 to 6 pounds each at this point ( 36 wks , I think) and both babies may have to have surgery tonight. Please pray for them.

A lot on my mind....

Mom is on my mind, as tomorrow she has minor surgery on her wrist to remove a calcified tumor. We visited Grammy and Grandaddy today and Raegan got to ride the lawnmower. We've found it to be her favorite pastime.

I still have to decide about Grad. school.... MTSU or TN Tech..... weekends or weekdays.

My sweet Raegan.....

You are more
perfect than
I could have hoped,
More beautiful than
I could have dreamed,
More precious than
I could have imagined...
I love you more than
I could have known.

Baby Steps

Raegan is now taking baby steps. She has taken 3 or 4 steps at a time on her own but then needs help to do the rest. She has her two front teeth and will be getting two more new ones on top as her gums are very white and a little swollen.

A new opportunity has opened up for weekend graduate courses through MTSU. I'll have to make some decisions as to where to go but at least I am sure this is what I'm supposed to be doing now. In fact, I've never felt more certain about it.

We have yard work to do tomorrow! I hope we get everything done early enough to just kick back and enjoy the evening before another busy week at work. I am counting down the days until school gets out and then our first family trip to the beach. Wow time has really flown by!

Oh, I almost forgot....... I got my tenure letter. We have an awards banquet to celebrate on the 28th which also happens to be mom's b'day and the day I have a dentist appointment. No wonder we never have time to relax.

Catching up!

What a busy week we've had. I haven't had time to post. So, what's new with us. Well I took Raegan for her 9 month checkup yesterday and she weighs 19 lbs. 5 ounces and is 27 1/2 inches long. She is in the 5oth percentile for height and weight and 25th for her head size. This was a visit without shots thank goodness. Her growth is good and the doctor said she had reached all of her developmental milestones and then some. While waiting for the doctor I was playing with Raegan and laying her back in my lap. I noticed two white spots in her mouth and guess what...she is getting her top two front teeth. I just looked 2 days ago and there wasn't anything there. Now you can really see them. Then today she took 3 steps from the floor to the coffee table. How exciting! Little girl, you continue to amaze us every day.

My mom has been back and forth to the doctor for tests on her hand and legs. She has to have at least two procedures to take care of the problems. There is a benign calcified tumor on her wrist and then she has a blockage in her left femoral artery and 3 in her right. They are not expecting clots, just plaque buildup but nonetheless she is in pain and very worried about it all. Please pray for her.

Grandaddy fell this week and knocked a knot on his head that you really could almost "hang a basketball on." He used to tell Alex and I that when we were little. He seems to be okay now but he does still have black eyes. Scott and I managed to get their grass cut but it needs it again.

I gave the ACT this morning and then we looked at the antique tractors at the show on campus. Yesterday my principal said that the Motlow College director was wanting me to teach a Biology lab class for them this summer. I told him that I might be interested but that I was going back to school myself this summer so we'd have to see. When I told Scott, he was so excited! I was really surprised. He as been so supportive with me and teaching. I can't be happier because I have a career that allows me to be a professional and still do the most important things in life...... be a mom and a wife. I am so grateful to those who make it possible for me. Thank you.

Raegan's 9 month pics

We took Raegan for her 9 month pics today and she was great. She was happy and easy to work with. The photographer was so surprised at what she can do for her age. They expected her to just be crawling. Since she is our first its all new to us to. We just rely on what we read, what we see, and what we hear from others. Parenting is a journey but we never expected it to be this fun and rewarding.
